About Us

Our Aim: To Equip and Encourage the Saints

We at Attentive Sons Printing Company are printers with a purpose. We seek to equip and encourage the saints to disciple the nations through our handsome apparel and home goods, providing the body of Christ with tools to subdue the earth in Christ Jesus. While we have designed a wide array of theological designs of our own, we also gladly welcome the opportunity to partner with other Christians to bring their culture-shaking ideas to fruition. Finally, we also seek to equip and encourage the saints in a more unassuming way, though no less important for advancing the Kingdom of Christ: by assisting Christian businesses on the professional front – providing company shirts, professional letterhead, or even business cards. Regardless of your needs, let Attentive Sons Printing Company provide you with what you need to fulfill your Kingdom calling.

Our Story

This whole endeavor began in August of 2015, when I (Ian) was situated on the lowest rung of management within an internationally recognized logistics corporation in my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. The work was physically demanding and, with almost no support from my superiors, nearly impossible at times. I felt defeated more often than not and, to make matters worse, an auto-immune condition was rearing its ugly head again due to the unrelenting stress. I had to ask myself, “Is this how I want to spend the rest of my life?” I knew the answer, and though I didn’t know of a way out, I knew I needed to find one.

My wife Kim, in a pivotal moment, suggested we go and get a cup of coffee on one of my infrequent days off and ponder what gifts or interests of mine could possibly provide an avenue out of my current job nightmare. I could only think of one thing, and that was screen-printing shirts. I’d always appreciated a clever t-shirt design and had entertained the notion of taking it up as a hobby when I was still in high school, but it required more commitment and treasure than my 18-year-old self was then prepared to invest, so, being thirty-one at the time of this conversation, I had let it sit on the back-burner for thirteen years. With my lovely helpmeet as my muse, I decided it might finally be worth pursuing. She told me that she already had Adobe Illustrator on her computer from her grad school days, and so we decided to give it a go, purchasing a small printing setup.

We decided pretty quickly that we weren’t just going to make any old t-shirt, though, but that we could finally put my ever-growing theology library to use (as if I needed any further justification for more book purchases)! Anyway, this dormant passion of mine since eighteen could finally be brought to fruition and for the good of Christ’s kingdom, no less! I daydreamed my way through a few more months at the warehouse, and as of December of 2015, Kim and I have pursued this quixotic calling full-time, with our three lovely olive shoots in tow—cheering us on every step of the way, of course—and we are loving it all. We hope you end up loving it, too.
